Hi everyone! My name is Mallorie Hsu and I am currently a junior pursuing a major in Art History. I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan but moved to the United States after high school to attend Pitzer College, a small liberal arts college east of downtown Los Angeles. Since I’ve always been more of a hands-on learner, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to spend a semester in Italy. What better place to study art history than Italy, right?! I hoped that I would be able to thoroughly integrate myself into the cultural and artistic history that the country has to offer and develop what I have learned in my past art history classes. The last time I came to Italy was back in 2013, but it was a much different experience back then. I was traveling with my family on a cruise ship, so we were only able to see a tiny glimpse of the country. This time, I’m traveling as a student and I’m taking my time, soaking in all the art that I see and putting my skills to use. During my time here, I have been exposed to a lot of amazing art, many of which are in the Palazzo della Pilotta. I’m excited to be collaborating with the museum, and I can’t wait to learn more about it!
